This Privacy Policy explains how Half-In Media LLC, doing business as Half-In Productions Co. (“Half-In,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit www.halfinproductions.com (the “Site”) or interact with our services.

1. Who we are
Half-In Media LLC is a California limited liability company doing business as Half-In Productions Co. We develop, produce, and distribute animated series, stop-motion productions, and comedy content. Our principal business address is 860 N Marengo Ave, Apt 4, Pasadena, CA 91103. Half-In Media LLC is the “controller” of personal information collected through the Site.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
We collect information only when you choose to give it to us:
- Contact form (on the home page): your name, email address, the topic you selected, and the message you write.
- Email correspondence: if you email us at info@halfinproductions.com, we retain the message and your reply address.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically receive certain technical information:
- Your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and approximate location (city/region level).
- Pages you view on the Site, the time and duration of your visit, and the page that referred you to us.
- For the contact form, we log the request IP address to apply rate limits and detect abuse.
This information is used for security, hosting, and basic aggregate analytics. We do not currently use third-party marketing analytics or advertising cookies.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:
- To respond to you when you use the contact form or email us.
- To send follow-up communications related to your inquiry, including news about upcoming productions and events when you've asked to hear from us. You can unsubscribe from these at any time.
- To operate and secure the Site, including preventing abuse of the contact form through rate limiting.
- To comply with legal obligations, including recordkeeping for tax and accounting purposes and responding to lawful requests.
We do not use your personal information to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. Legal bases for processing (for EEA/UK visitors)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information on the following legal bases: (a) your consent when you submit the contact form or subscribe to updates; (b) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Site; and (c) legal obligation where applicable (e.g., tax records).
5. How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate the Site, and only to the extent needed for them to provide their services. These include:
- Resend — sends transactional email on our behalf (contact-form notifications and autoresponders). Their Privacy Policy governs how they handle email content and delivery metadata.
- Vercel Inc. — hosts the Site and processes access logs (including IP addresses) as part of standard web hosting. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
- Squarespace / Google Domains — manages DNS records for our domain.
- Vimeo — hosts embedded videos on the Site. When you play a Vimeo video, Vimeo may set cookies and collect information under its own Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose personal information if we are required to do so by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others. If Half-In Media LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred to the successor entity subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.
6. Cookies and tracking
We do not currently place first-party marketing or analytics cookies. The Site may set functional cookies necessary for basic operation and security. Third-party embeds — specifically Vimeo video players — may set their own cookies when you interact with them. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some Site features may not work as expected.
We do not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals because there is no consistent industry standard for interpreting them, but we do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out of any “sale” or “share” of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA.
7. How long we keep information
- Contact-form submissions: retained in our email inbox indefinitely unless you request deletion. Rate-limit logs are retained for up to 24 hours.
- Email correspondence: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to and follow up on your inquiry.
- Server and access logs: retained by our hosting providers according to their standard retention periods (typically 30–90 days).
8. How we protect information
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. All data transmitted between your browser and our Site is encrypted with TLS. Access to contact-form submissions and email is limited to authorized personnel.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights and choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your information, subject to legal recordkeeping obligations.
- Opt out of promotional emails at any time by replying with “unsubscribe” or emailing info@halfinproductions.com. Transactional emails related to an inquiry you sent us will still be sent.
- Withdraw consent you've previously given, where processing is based on consent.
- Portability: request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@halfinproductions.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. We will respond within 45 days.
10. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to know what categories of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information — we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out request.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information — we do not process sensitive personal information beyond what is strictly necessary to provide our services.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To submit a CCPA request, email info@halfinproductions.com with “CCPA Request” in the subject line. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.
Categories of personal information collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (name, email, IP address); and internet activity (browsing on the Site).
11. International users
The Site is operated from and directed to users in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. By using the Site, you consent to that transfer.
12. Children's privacy
Although Half-In Productions Co. develops content for children, this Site is directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age, and our contact form is intended for adults only. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the Site, please contact us at info@halfinproductions.com and we will delete the information.
13. Third-party links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including social media platforms, streaming services, and press coverage. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing information to them.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we will post a prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
